Prosecuting Attorney Visits Group

Paul Boyd, Scott County Prosecuting Attorney was the guest speaker at the Strength Over Sorrow Support Group in Sikeston, Missouri. Mr. Boyd discussed how the Circuit Court Drug Court Rehabilitation program is organized for Scott and Mississippi Counties. He also gave the audience some tips on recognizing illicit drug use and drug paraphernalia. He is a supporter of the drug court program for qualified offenders and has assisted several in the support group with education about rehabilitation and enrollment of their family members.

Judge David C. Mann Speaks to Group

Members of Strength Over Sorrow listened very attentively to Judge David C. Mann, Associate Judge of Circuit Court Division 5 during a recent meeting with the group. Judge Mann was very informative in giving statistics of increased drug and alcohol cases he is seeing in his Scott County based court. On-going family based support is the foundation of recovery in many of these cases. He was complimentary to the group for their many successes in this regard. Judge Mann also suggested that the group consider expanding regular meetings into the northern part of Scott County and offered some suggestions to accomplish that goal.
